With the first students admitted to then Edison Junior College in the fall of 1962, the college continues to provide students with the opportunity to fulfill their professional goals. On July 1, 2014, the college was renamed Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW). The college offers Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Baccalaureate degrees, as well as various certificate programs. Please visit our Academics page to learn more about our programs.

Since 1966, the Florida SouthWestern State College Foundation has supported the College in providing students an outstanding, yet affordable education. As a result, students have an advantage when it comes to obtaining competitive jobs in our evolving and dynamic market. Besides awarding over a million dollars in scholarships each year, the FSW Foundation also funds academic programs, new technology for classrooms, and new or improved facilities. The FSW Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and by the State of Florida as a direct support organization for FSW.

The FSW athletics department's mission is to continually enhance a program that attracts, develops and graduates student-athletes who, under the guidance of high-quality staff, experience not only academic growth, but also social and professional growth. The qualities of the successful FSW student-athlete include; teamwork, leadership, service, integrity, a strong work ethic, accountability and responsibility.
